Large Animal and Equine Care

Northern Valley Livestock Services is a veterinary practice exclusively dedicated to large animals such as dairy, beef, calves, small ruminants, and equine. We offer all-encompassing veterinary care and consulting to not only care for the animal, but also to look after the entire farm.

We provide on-site veterinary services to farms within a 40 minute radius of Plainview, MN. Our two convenient locations offer large animal veterinary care, advanced diagnostics, laboratory services, and consulting services.

Consultation Services

• Herd health management​

Medical and Surgical Services

• We provide medical and surgical services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Our doctors are experienced in diagnosis, medical treatment, surgery, obstetrics, and necropsies, utilizing the latest methods.  Procedures are generally performed on farm.

Reproductive Services

• Ultrasound analysis to provide early pregnancy diagnosis, twin identification, fetal sexing
• Breeding soundness exam and semen evaluation on bulls
• Castration

Microbiology Laboratory Services

• We have an in-house laboratory for microbiology, parasitology, and clinical pathology.  We are also able to send off samples to other labs as needed.

Large Animal Assistant Services

Our large animal assistant can provide services that do not require a veterinarian at a lower billing rate.

Animal Health Store & Pharmacy

• You can purchase drugs and supplies at our office or order and have the items shipped directly to your farm (valid vet-client-patient relationship is required for prescription drug sales).
